HKD grew out of a project by two electrical engineering students at the University of Texas, Austin.  So convinced were they that they had an innovative and economic solution that would extend the range of electric vehicles, they started the company while still in their last year of university. 

Since then, HKD has become a supplier and development partner to some of the world’s largest electric vehicle OEMs as well as electric car racing teams.
